Wicking, or evaporative cooling as we prefer to call it, is the basis of all that we do.

Wicking fabrics are a reasonably recent addition to the clothing market. Much has been written about these but in essence the technology is very simple.

In situations where you are subjected to high ambient temperatures and/or vigorous physical exertion you get hot and sweaty.  This is the body’s way of telling the brain that you are overheating and for the brain to start working your body harder to cool you down.

Fabric technicians have discovered that if sweat can be wicked away from the skin and evaporated quickly on the outside of the garment the brain will work your body less hard therefore conserving energy and increasing endurance. 

True wicking fabrics therefore have huge advantages over normal ones, both physiologically and practically.  These include;
